BACKGROUND:
KENYA AID APPEALS WAS FORMED TO HELP TO BRING AID RELIEF TO THE NEEDY CHILDREN AND WOMEN.
It originally flew under the title of BOXABOX (www.boxabox.com) under the direction of William and
his Kenyan partner Pamella Oduor.
Following its success in the EMPOWERMENT of several needy families, a recruitment drive was then
undertaken to create working volunteer cells across Kenya. This lead to an involvement with the
INGRID EDUCATION CENTRE- Nairobi.
Ingrids is a self made school constructed with wood and tin sheets ,on rented ground. It is located in
KAYOLE.
Kenya aid appeals made several donations, and were able to help the founder and Director
DOUGLAS ONKWARE to increase pupil capacity, keep a food program going, and to link him with sources
from which he could get help on uniforms, and excercise books.

Kenya aid appeals and Volunteerism amalgamated last year, and now service some twenty projects
across Kenya under one logo ,K.A.A.O (WWW.KENYAIDAPPEALS.ORG)
AIM:
The aim of KENYA AID APPEALS is to create self reliant groups, orphanages and institutions,
through a progressive plan of (a) Identifying needs, (b) Creating skills and training (3)Implimenting
back up and resources.
This approach of giving them tools to do the job brings about self help, which in turn gives them control
over their lives and EMPOWERMENT.
